I think that because of the force of the wind the tree has adapted itself according to nature's will and it has grown a bit tilted towards the water body It may also be because the roots are penetrating more towards the waterside for its source of life which is water.
@Seemontini- I agree with you but there could be another way. If there had been a storm would it have not torn off most of the top of the tree instead of crashing the middle of the tree down and pulling out a few thick branches? Could a person have done it?
I think the storm might have blew the tree down and made it a ruined place.

I think this tree has ash die back and then fell because of the wind as it was so weak
