Imagine that you are one of the astronauts living for six
months on board the International Space Station.
Write an email to a member of your family describing life
living in space. Describe your views from the space station, what it is like
living in zero gravity and the challenges that you face.
This is due in on Friday, 21st March.
Dear Mum
ReplyDeleteI having a perfectly normal time up hear you would love the zero G. It's kind of hard up hear but you get used to it there are some guys wholistic arrived yesterday and one of them had a very bad and bumpy ride. Then sleeping is proply the hardest thing to do when you are abord the I.S.S. Aspesaly when nearly everyone is a extremally good snorer.
My fraviout thing to do is drinking floating water and my fraviout mission so far was when I had to test if magnets worked in space the first time it worked but then we tried to see if it would work the the space station wall and it did so we counted the test as success.

Aidan
Star:your letter is very good
DeleteStar: you have used good examples of what it tells you to do.

Dear Mum, Dad and Grandma,
ReplyDeleteI am having so much fun up in the space station. I am also missing you all around me. I won't see you six months and believe me , that is really hard!
It is so cool living in zero gravity because you can fly around everywhere. Don't worry I will get used to it! You can see everything from outside and I can't believe I see such an amazing view!
I face so many challenges like trying to find space medicine. Well, that's it from me.
Love you so much.
From your darling,

Dear mum and dad
ReplyDeleteIt is so fun up in the space station there .
If i had to give marks out of 5 it would be 2\5 because it got scary you
try going into space and leaning over the earth.
It is big and scary!
There is no gravity i was floating around like a snow flake when it falls down
but the thing is you don't fall down you go up down left right!
Freaky right?
If I went in the space all on my own i would not want to go in the first place.
There is so many things to do and so many hard challenges
Well Good Bye
love you

Dear Mum and Dad,
ReplyDeleteI am up in the I.S.S. looking at Earth right now, we are a very small planet but i like it just way it is . It's very weird because everything around me is floating effortlessly. It is also extremely hard to eat because everything is floating around me due to zero gravity which is fun when you play but a nightmare when you eat or drink, and i don't even want to talk about the toilet?
For those down there who do not believe in Aliens, well you better start to, because there are some very strange things up here that i just can't explain, like fast moving objects, which seem to stop every now and then by themselves, as if to say "hello". By the way they have the most repulsive food ever . I am now a firm believer in extra terrestrial beings, as aliens have been sighted by myself and are weird but funny and float around everywhere.

Subject: how it is going in the ISS
Dear family,
I've just been hired for an astronaut job from the letter I sent last Thursday and
I'm in the international space station with lots of astronauts I can see lots of things going on I can even see people recording the TV show "live from space"
It is really scary here. When mum packed me cucumber they told me to put it in the bin because it was to heavy. I had to practise driving the ISS it was so awesome I drove it about 7.71 km per second it was pretty fast it was one of the hard challenges I had to face. I was there for six months wearing my white little suit. When I went to the bathroom it was gross there was a pipe that your waste goes into YUCK!
But soon I will come back in six months and I'll be in the nick of time for my dental appointment. I really love you!
From Nick.
Dear Mum, Dad and Tanvi ,

see you in two weeks love you

Dear Parents,
ReplyDeleteNow I have reached to the international Space Station(ISS).And I already miss you even if it has past 1 day! I can see the Earth from up here. It is really cool up here beacuse it has no-gravity which is so different than at home. Also, I can see so many planets! I can't wait to see even more in space!!!!!!!!

Dear Mummy and Daddy,
I miss you already and there is another 6 months to go. I am having an epic time living in 0G and I am still getting used to it. I am at I.S.S space shuttle and still working on my project. As you may know, the team may extend the contract to one year and so I think it would be fun to stay here a bit longer to absolutely finish the project. Hopefully the project will be finished by then. It is up to you if you want me to stay or not because you are my parent and you are the people that will know the best thing I should do.
Thanks and regards,
Seemontini

Dear Mum,
ReplyDeleteI have sent this email to let you know that I have reached the I.S.S safely.I can't believe I have actually go to stay here without you for 6 whole month (a lot).I have already started missing you.The food here is absolutely appalling.I wish you were the cook around here.Sorry for the shortness of this email but I have to go now and sample some types of dust.
BYE
With lots of love from your son,
Sachin,aboard the I.S.S
Dear family,
ReplyDeleteI hope you are having a wonderful time on Earth because I'm living the dream here!
The second my rocket lifted from Earth, I knew that I was in for an adventure of a lifetime. When I entered the I.S.S,(International Space Station), I could feel this strange sensation around me. All of a sudden, I remembered that there was micro-gravity! Even though I would rather have a slovenly pigeon's bathroom, than the one up on here,...I love the bedrooms. In no gravity, sleeping feels like heaven!!!!
This is all I could write I'm afraid but please don't worry about me. I have made some fabulous friends here. I think I will be in very safe company for the coming six months I'm here.See you later, I've got to do my exercise.
BYE!
Lots of love from your mischevious son,
Shounak Pal (Signing off!!)
P.S Please don't think that I will break a oxygen canister or the central computer. I have been trained rigorously!

ReplyDeleteSubject: I.S.S. Station on the planet Mars
I'm up on the I.S.S. Space Station on Mars, It is absolutely awesome. I can jump at least Twenty feet high, no gravity, remember. I'm missing you already, it's only my Fourth day here but it seems like ages, I'm home sick! We've planted the flag and landed and all that stuff but the most boring thing is, the food is absolutely, completely disgusting! You know I love food, but this food, it's really not going to work out! Zero gravity is awesome! As I've told you before, you can jump Twenty feet high, like as much as a house, half as much as the shuttle, It's an adventure jumping as high as a building, you can't do anything like it on planet Earth can you.
Just about, I'd roughly say, One Hundred and Eighty Two days left, I really very miss you. Any ways, I hope you reply.
P.S. Do not forget to reply. It is very important.
From your son,
Yatharth
