  2. The Princes in the Tower were Edward V of England and Richard of Shrewsbury, Duke of York.Withen 6 weeks of Edward IV death, Richard gathered support for a move to declare the princes illegitamate and declare himself King. The Tower of London, in which the princes were imprisoned, was not made as a prison. It was a royal residence, protected by royals.By placing the princes in the Tower of London, Richard was not, in theory, placing them in prison, or under arrest. In July 1483 ,the Duke of Gloucester was crowned King Richard III,and the princes were never seen again.I think Richard III murdered the princes. If King Richard III did murder the princes, it must have been to safeguard his position as King.

  3. Who were The Princes in the Tower?

The Princes in the Tower were Edward V and Richard of Shrewsbury, Duke of York. Richard was born 1473 and Edward was born 1470. Both lived up until 1483 and both were sons of Edward IV.

    What happened to them?

When Edward was 12 and Richard was 9, Richard, Duke of Gloucester declared himself as King Richard III and soon enough, the boys dissapeared.

Why do you think it happened?

I think because Richard was King he could do whatever he wanted; I bet he didn't want to look after the Princes in the tower anymore.

Who do you think was behind it?

I think King Richard III was behind it. He must have secretly killed them since nobody knew where they were and then their bones were found near the White tower around the year of 1647.

The Princes in the Tower were imprisoned and then after that they disappeared.

Richard III wanted to be king and did not want the boys in the way.

  6. Who were the Princes in the Tower?

The Princes in the Tower were Edward V of England (1470- 1483) and Richard of Shrewsbury (1473 - 1483) , Duke of York. They were the children of Edward IV and Elizabeth Woodvile.

    What happened to them?

Both the boys had usually played on Tower Green but around the beginning of June 1483 they vanished! At that time Edward was 12 years and Richard was 9 years of age.

Why do you think it happened?

I think that Richard, the Duke of Gloucester who called himself Richard III wanted to secure his place to the throne so he needed to get the children out of the way.

Who do you think was behind it?

I think it was Richard III, who was behind this brutal plot about imprisoning and murdering the children secretly.
