This week we have been working on including more complex sentences in your work. Your homework is to write
a story deliberately using different sentence structures decided by with a roll
of a dice or a spin of a spinner:
Roll
1: short, simple sentences, maximum six words;
Roll
2: compound sentences, 10–20 words;
Roll 3: complex sentences, minimum 25 words
Roll
4: Start sentence with a conjunction and subordinate clause.
Roll
5: Insert a sound effect, one word and exclamation point.
You need to include at least 10 rolls of the dice.
Don't forget to use capital letters, full stops and commas to show the separation of main and subordinate clauses.

ReplyDeleteI went to the park. Although it was raining, I was wearing a T-shirt. I reached the park, and two of my friends ran excitedly to greet me. Suddenly,there was a BANG! Although it was loud, we didn't get scared. Although it sounded scary, it was just a box that had fallen down. We helped pick up the box. Although she didn't have to, a lady gave us a few sweets. We thanked the kind lady.

ReplyDeleteAnna’s First Day Of School
As it was Anna’s first Day of school, she was extremely excited. She had got dressed and was ready to walk to school with her mother. THUMP! Anna had started her exciting day by walking into the headmaster! Although he was furious, the headmaster tried to calm down.
It was then when the ear-splitting sound of the bell rang. Anna lined up and followed the other children into her new class room… Her day went by so quickly, subject after subject.
After school, her mother gave her a sweet for being brave and from then and on Anna has always loved school!
Eliot's Kite Roll 3
ReplyDeleteAlthough it was a cold,windy day,Eliot went out to fly his kite. His kite flew high in the sky,but it got stuck in a 100 year old,tall Oak Tree. Eliot started crying,he could hear it go KRIP! He pulled it down,he gave it to his mom,she stichtedwas it together again. He was very happy and now he flew it in a open field,that was the story of Eliot's kite.
I was playing in my garden . I went on my skateboard and BOOOM !!!!! , I tripped and fell over. A bottle rolled to me I was feeling thirsty and I drank it . Suddenly I grew wings . I jumped and started flying . When I on the ground again I looked at my broken skateboard and had a idea. I gently put the bits on and in 5 second

Red, leader of the flock, bent down to see an unknown green toucan had crashed the slingshot down, launching Matilda the white bird the wrong way, leaving a small but noticeable patch where Matilda had launched her "Egg Bomb". As long as the slingshot didn't break, thought Chuck, they would be fine. Red refused to let Hal the green bird in the gang. Oink! Oink! King Pig was very satisfied and laughed along with a few Minion pigs. Bomb went red, and launched himself at the tower, finding out the walls were indestructable. Ca-Caw! The Flock, Red, Chuck, The Blues, Bomb and Matilda launched themselves at the structure, getting worn out after the assault on the pigs. Just then, Hal came along to check on the birds, not finding them in very good condition. Finally, SLINGSHOT HEAVEN! He accidently overshot himself over the building! Although he had failed on that, Corporal Pig forced him back like a boomerang. He had went through the backward entrance and, unsuprisingly, gathered the eggs in his beak just before King Pig ate them. He hurried back as the tower collapsed. The birds, on the other hand, were crying, thinking King Pig had already eaten them. In the flash of light, Hal returned the eggs to the nest and was awarded membership.
The End!
Although I don't cycle much, I was riding my bicycle in the park and I was riding swiftly. BOOOM! CRASH! I heard a deafening sound from across the field. I rushed across the field to see two cars touching each other broken from boot to bonnet. What I didn't see was that the people completely disappeared who supposed to be driving the car, It was like the car was running by it self. Even though I wasn't sure I called up the police and the investigators at the scene of the crash. They were in deep shock and had nothing to say. It was getting late. I had to go home after that shocking experience. I am still in shock and a bit astonished about how the drivers disappeared.
ReplyDeleteYes, it was the day I was going to the zoo. I had been waiting for months bt finally I persuaded my mum to let me have a day out. My mum, as usual, was looking for the milk. Then she she heard a knock on the door. I thought it would be the delivery man, delivering my new English book. I rushed upstairs, as I normally do and got my pencil and book ready but my mum came back with a gloomy frown on her face. She patted me gently on the back.Then, she explained that the zoo keeper came along and told me that their was a problem. As soon as I heard PROBLEM I looked down and tears rolled down my cheeks. My mum understood and patted me on the back and gave me a small cosy cuddle. My mum continued, a camel has escaped from its in closure and there is caos on the streets of London. He said he would prefer we would not go. I started to grip my fists and I banded them on the large, wooden dining table. I was angry, very angry

The beggining, of a new era, begins here. This is not the first time this story has been told but every century theres a brand new flock, its time for the DOD boys to take over....
Its the 7th november 1999. Its a gloomy day and the city of boston is invaded by the evil piggies. All of the old bird flock died leaving evil to roam through the dreaded city of boston. up in the sky a young robin named jem was flying in the sky when coming face to face with a giant human sized helicopter. zrrrrr! kaboom!
Jem, who now had a million scars all over, was falling to the ground directly towards the twin towers. Halfway down Jem,who was still severely hurt, opened his eyes. Noticing that he was falling to the ground he began moving his back muscles, pppppzzzzch!
He didnt do anything he was hovering off the ground, Not by wings, by helicopter proppelers. He had turned into a helicopter.exactly the same as the one that he had crashed into but 100 times smaller. next day he met a dude named Jet,but not as fast as robin,who had gone through exactly the same incident and he had plenty of other freinds and he joined there flock. now you know how this all began.
I was waiting for a long time for the fun fair to arrive in our town.So I looked out of the window and saw a truck pass, on the truck it said fun fair coming. Suddenly, I dashed out of my room and went to the kitchen to ask my mum if we could go to the fun fair my mum said" Yes! but a bit later ". So I waited and waited till my mum said to go and get changed so we could go to the fun fair. We started to walk to the funfair. When we got there I met with my friends , so we went on rides and had fun together....and it wos a very nice day ...yeyyyyyy!

ReplyDeletePoppy went to school. Even though it was raining, Poppy went the long way to school, which meant she had to go up the lane, down the lane,over the hill and across the road to get there. BANG! AEEA! Two things happened : a car crashed nearby and Poppy screamed. She called an ambulance. NEE NAW! The ambulance arrived, put the harmed people onto strechers which were far more sturdy than wheelchairs and drove off. Next, two recovery vehicles came and took the two cars away. Poppy went into the school.
A Birthday Present
ReplyDeleteBilly's birthday was coming up. He had been longing for a brand new shining pair of the famous Messi boots but his mum had kept on saying that they were too expensive. "Yes!" Billy exclaimed.
Since Billy had been craving for a pair for such a long time, he was sure he would get his boots.
The day of Billy's birthday arrived. Eventually, Billy's friends started pouring in. Once everyone had come, Billy proudly opened the gift from his Mum.
To his astonishment, he found a pair of old boots. "What!", Billy exclaimed. His jaw dropped!
This is only the beginning of my story. But just to let you know, Billy later found out the magical powers of the miraculous shoes. He would turn invisible whenever he wore them and this would lead him to solve numerous mind boggling mysteries....
