  1. As my Fairtrade product, I have chosen chocolate because I want to learn more about it and it is really yummy! Fairtrade chocolate comes from Ghana, Africa. The chocolate is grown in cacao fields and there are about 25,000 farmers involved with the cacao growing of Fairtrade in Ghana.

The cacao trees naturally grow in temperatures within 20 degrees Celsius any side of the equator because it needs 2000 millimetres of rainfall a year. The temperature needs to be about 21 to 32 degrees Celsius. Cacao trees can not survive temperatures below 15 degrees Celsius.

    The footprints of Fairtrade chocolate:
    1. Farmers grow an harvest the cacao beans.
    2. The beans would brew in banana or plantain for 6 days. The chocolatey taste and colour will be starting to produce.
    3. The beans are spread out on tables in the sun for 10 days.
    4. The beans are put into sacks and taken to the local Kuapa Kokoo ( it means good cocoa farmer in Twi, the language that is spoken in Ghana) to be weighed.
    5. The farmers are paid if the Ghanaian government accept the cacao.
    6. The beans are transported to companies as well as Fairtrade companies.

3)the beans are put out in the sun for 240 hours

  5. My favorite fairtrade product is cocoa beans because it is interesting (and yummy!) and I will like to learn more about it:
Where does fairtrade cocoa beans come from?
Cocoa beans come from Ghana in Africa. The cocoa beans grows in a 15 meter tree. They need to wait for a cocoa pod to grown in a cocoa tree then they have to wait then to harvest it and inside the cocoa pod are the cocoa beans.
Identify the optimal climate/terrain for cocoa beans produce?
There are about 25,000 farmers In the cocoa fields where they need to harvest cocoa beans for us.In the cocoa field where they grow cocoa pods need to be 20-30 degrees Celsius for the trees to survive. If the degrees under 20 degrees Celsius , the tree will die.
Can you research the journey / footprint of cocoa beans from where it grows to the supermarket ?
    1. The farmers need to grow the cocoa pods then harvest them.
    2. They check the cocoa pods if there good or not.
    3. They take the cocoa beans out of the cocoa pod and then wash them and put them in a container with a fairtrade sticker on it.
    4. They put it in a box and ship them to different countries.
